Participation Principles & House Rules
The Ploom Community encourages you to express your views, however we expect all of our members to be respectful and courteous when completing surveys, or when contributing to individual and group discussions.
By using The Ploom Community, you accept whole responsibility for any content you post and you agree to abide by these Terms of Use and specifically the House Rules below.
The ‘House Rules’
These House Rules apply to any and all materials and content which you contribute to our website and to any interactive services associated with The Ploom Community.
Content you post must not:
- be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory;
- promote any kind of violence, sexually explicit material or any illegal content or activity;
- promote any kind of discrimination (including based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age);
- discuss and/or allude to the use of Ploom, EVO Tobacco Sticks, or any other tobacco and/or nicotine containing product, by anyone under the age of 18 years old;
- make unsubstantiated reference to the reduced risk or removal of risk to health, or nicotine addiction, through the use of Ploom, EVO Tobacco Sticks or any other tobacco and/or nicotine containing product;
- bully, harass, upset, embarrass or intimidate any other member, individual or organisation;
- be unlawful, fraudulent, libellous, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented or racially offensive;
- in any way breach any applicable local, national or international law or regulation;
- be spam (persistent negative and/or abusive content with the aim of provoking a response);
- advertise or promote any services or web links to other sites;
- infringe any copyright, database right or trademark of any other person;
- be disruptive and/or repetitive; and
- contain viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
Failure to comply with the House Rules will be a material breach of these Terms of Use upon which you are permitted to use our website and may result in us taking the following actions:
- immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your content unloaded by you on our website and/or your right to use our website;
- warnings issued to you;
- legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of all costs (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach; and/or
- disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel is necessary or as required by law.
We also reserve the right to warn, remove and/or ban any member who:
- encourages others to post content which does conform to the ‘House Rules’;
- uses offensive images as their profile picture, or has an offensive username;
- is found to be sharing any content or research results published on The Ploom Community, via any means (including social media);
- fails to contribute to any Ploom Community activity for a period of three consecutive months; and/or
- no longer enables The Ploom Community to hold a representative panel of members aligning with the demography of the UK’s heated tobacco products consumers, as provided by IPSOS Group S.A.
Although every effort is made by us to ensure users of the Ploom Community comply with the House Rules, our website may include information and materials uploaded by other users of the Ploom Community which has not been verified or approved by us. The views expressed by other users on our website do not represent our views or values. If you wish to complain about content uploaded by other users, please contact us on ploomcommunities@jti.com.
We exclude our liability for all action we may take in response to breaches the House Rules. The actions we may take are not limited to those described above, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.
